Our Church and School Staff

Senior Pastor: Greg Wright

Pastor Greg Wright grew up in West Virginia and came to know the Lord at the age of twelve. Having Godly parents, he was encouraged to seek and do the Lord’s will for his life. In 1987 he graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelors degree in Bible and went on to complete his Masters degree in Pastoral Studies in 1989. He then worked at Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville, SC as the assistant pastor until 1993. While there, Pastor Wright also helped develop a new missions board called Open Door Baptist Missions. Having been led by the Lord, he and his family moved to St. George in the Fall of 1993 to start Westside Baptist Church.

Associate Pastor: Jeremy Hargis

When God called Pastor Jeremy to St. George, He called him back to the West. Originally from Colorado, he left the West for Bible college. While at Northland Baptist Bible College he studied Youth Ministries and graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following graduation he became a staff member at Northland Camp in Wisconsin for 5 years. From there he joined the faculty of Pillsbury Baptist Bible College as the Dean of Men. While at Pillsbury he also worked on a Master of Arts degree in Theology from Central Baptist Theological Seminary, which he completed in 2006. Having a love for the local church and a desire to minister on a more long-term level, he and his family moved to St. George in the Summer of 2006 to begin serving the Lord at Westside. As our Associate Pastor, Pastor Jeremy is a "right hand man" to Pastor Greg. His enthusiasm and love for the Lord spill over into his church ministries.

Teacher: Merri Ellen Wright

Merri Ellen is excited about celebrating 20 years of ministry here in St. George with her husband, Pastor Greg. Having been involved in all aspects of Westside, she treasures most the memories of God changing hearts and lives.

Involved in teaching or facilitating classes for many years at Westside Christian School, Merri Ellen is teaching 1st - 3rd grade Bible class and the Language Arts classes to our first grade students this year. She believes a good phonetic foundation is a must and is happy to be continuing this aspect of learning with her kindergarten students from last year.

Teacher: Tara Liston

Tara returns to Westside Christian School after a three year absence. She was greatly missed while serving the Lord and teaching in Papua New Guinea.
Tara is our lead teacher for the elementary grades. Teaching multiple subjects and grades every day, she brings a love for her students and a commitment to her service for the Lord to school every day.
Our students are blessed to have Tara teaching them and challenging them on a daily basis.

Teacher: Sarina Moyer

Originally from Georgia, Sarina brings to Westside Christian School two years of multi-grade teaching experience. Her junior high and high school History and English students appreciate her easy-going personality, and we all look forward to a long-term relationship ahead.
