Pastor Greg Wright grew up in West Virginia and came to know the Lord at the age of twelve. Having Godly parents, he was encouraged to seek and do the Lord’s will for his life. In 1987 he graduated from Bob Jones University with a Bachelors degree in Bible and went on to complete his Masters degree in Pastoral Studies in 1989. He then worked at Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville, SC as the assistant pastor until 1993. While there, Pastor Wright also helped develop a new missions board called Open Door Baptist Missions. Having been led by the Lord, he and his family moved to St. George in the Fall of 1993 to start Westside Baptist Church.

~~A Word from Pastor Wright~~ It is truly a joy to serve the Lord here in Utah’s Dixie. Southern Utah is a great place to live. The warm climate and close proximity to so many beautiful landmarks make it a desirable place for many people. That is evidenced by the tremendous growth of the St. George area since the late 1980’s. More importantly, it is a great place to be if you are interested in serving the Lord. The percentage of people who attend Christian churches (broadly defined) on any given Sunday is somewhere between 5-10%. By far, Mormonism holds the position of majority (approximately 65%) in this community. You can see by this cursory look that there is a great need for laborers in the field. There is tremendous opportunity to do pioneering work for the Lord on this mission field. God has greatly blessed our church with loving people who recognize the urgency of the need of the lost. We welcome you to visit us so that we can share what the Lord can do through you and for you.
